AI Document Detector
Inspect documents page by page and section by section
Long documents are rarely all one thing. AI Inspector Lab extracts text while keeping page numbers and heading structure, analyses each section, and inspects document properties and embedded images so you can see exactly where attention is warranted.
What the inspector checks
Page and section references
PDF findings cite page numbers; DOCX and Markdown findings cite the heading they appear under.
Document properties
Author, application, editing time and producer fields are reported, including producers that reference AI writing tools.
Embedded images
Images inside Word documents are checked for C2PA credentials and generator metadata.
Exportable reports
Download the full report as PDF for records, or JSON for your own tooling.
Who uses it
- Academic integrity reviews
- Procurement and grant applications
- Legal and compliance document intake
- Content audits of knowledge bases
AI Document Detector FAQ
Does editing time in Word mean anything?
A very short recorded editing time for a long document indicates pasted content - from any source. We report it as context, not as an AI indicator.
Can I inspect password-protected PDFs?
No. Encrypted PDFs are rejected; remove protection first.
Are macros or scripts in documents executed?
Never. Documents are parsed as data only; nothing inside them runs.
